Intro:
Great Meadow, also known as the 140 Flats, is located at over 5,000 feet elevation about 40 miles east of Medford on Oregon Route 140 near Lake Of The Woods. Great Meadow offers road side snowkite convenience complete with restrooms and plowed parking. This area is part of the Oregon Sno-Park system so a winter parking permit is required.
Great Meadow is the location of the annual SnowDaze snowkite event organized by the Southern Oregon Kite Addicts and sponsored by Kite Zombies.
Hazards:
This area is a popular snowmobile staging area and snowkiting is a new activity that most snowmobilers do not understand.
Small depressions and trenches that can fill with water during the spring are not always visible through the snow.

Food & Lodging:
Medford and Ashland to the west and Klamath Falls to east are your best options. Ashland is a college town and has the most to offer for night life.
