The Katana mast borrowed its construction philosophy from traditional Japanese blade forging — an outer layer of extremely stiff high-modulus carbon blended with an intermediate-modulus core for strength. The result was a mast that was super-stiff and fast, with a significantly higher breaking point than pure high-modulus construction alone.
Combined with one-piece construction and a slightly thicker profile than the Race series, the Katana delivered reduced twist and flex under load while remaining one of the fastest carbon masts on the market. The taper-lock mast-to-fuselage connection eliminated play and held the mast securely without relying solely on screws.
